OUR STORY

OJÚ AYÒ didn’t start as a business idea. It started with me, Bisola.

I’ve always been that girl with sunglasses on, rain or shine, indoors, outdoors… it didn’t matter. I even wore them in school and was constantly told to take them off. But for me, sunglasses were never just an accessory. They were a form of self-expression, confidence, mood, personality, all in one.

As I got older, that love only grew. I started investing in designer pairs, assuming that a higher price meant better quality. But over time, I noticed something wasn’t right. I’d wear certain sunglasses and my eyes would actually start to hurt. That’s when I realised that not all sunglasses, no matter how they’re marketed, truly prioritise protection.

That moment shifted everything for me.

OJÚ AYÒ, meaning “Eyes of Joy” in Yoruba, was born from that experience, a desire to create something that doesn’t force you to choose between style and substance. Rooted in Nigerian heritage and inspired by vibrant culture, our designs celebrate colour, creativity, and individuality while connecting with a global audience. Every pair carries a sense of identity and a celebration of joy.

At OJÚ AYÒ, we focus on what truly matters. Each pair is crafted with genuine UV400 protection, durable materials, and bold, expressive designs, because your eyes deserve more than just aesthetics. We are also mindful of our impact, choosing materials and processes that respect the planet without compromising on quality or style.

But more than anything, OJÚ AYÒ is about how you feel when you put your sunglasses on, that sense of ease, confidence, and joy.

Today, OJÚ AYÒ is more than just sunglasses. It’s a celebration of individuality and self-expression. It’s for those who embrace colour, move with confidence, and see the world differently.

Our mission is simple: to bring joy to every glance, combining style, quality, and intention so you can see, and be seen, in the boldest way possible.
